The "Góry Sowie" are part of the Central Sudetes. They are composed of gneiss rocks and are considered by many to be the oldest mountains in Poland and even in Europe. Their age is estimated to be around 2.5 billion years.

Hiking trips

One of the ways to enjoy active leisure is through hiking trips. Thanks to the diversity of the terrain and well-marked trails, mountain expeditions are pure pleasure.

The highest peaks are located in the northern part of the mountains - Wielka Sowa (1025 m above sea level) along with its neighboring peak, Mała Sowa (972 m above sea level), and in the southern part, there is Kalenica (964 m above sea level) with its neighboring peak - Słoneczna (949 m above sea level).

Bicycle? Or maybe windsurfing?

It's also worth going on a cycling trip as the Owl Mountains area offers the largest system of mountain bike trails in Poland. The trails are characterized by various levels of difficulty and beautiful natural surroundings.

During the summer, windsurfing at Lake Bielawskie is becoming increasingly popular. Adrenaline and fun are guaranteed!

Winter attractions

During winter, there are also plenty of attractions for skiers and cross-country skiing enthusiasts. Extensive networks of cross-country skiing trails and ski slopes entice tourists to stay at the foothills of the mountains in picturesque scenery.

Sightseeing

The Owl Mountains are a treasure trove of mysteries. One of the biggest tourist attractions is the unfinished project Riese, which was supposed to become Adolf Hitler's headquarters. The kilometers of underground corridors still arouse immense curiosity among visitors.
